FAQ
What preliminary work do we usually need to do before laying bricks?
2019/5/1 0:00:00

In daily life, if we want ceramic tiles to last for a long time, not only do we need to maintain them after laying them, but also the preparation work before laying them is extremely important. Some ceramic tiles laid on household walls will fall off to some extent after 5-6 years of decoration and use. This is because the preparation work before laying them is not done enough, which causes this phenomenon to occur. Here, we teach you the methods to prevent falling off when laying tiles.

1、 Ceramic tiles should fully absorb water

Floor tiles or ceramic tiles are all materials that need to be soaked in water. It is necessary to ensure that they soak in water for sufficient time to keep the moisture of the tiles in a saturated state. This way, the tiles will not absorb water from the cement due to insufficient moisture and excessive dryness during laying. If this situation occurs, it will cause poor bonding between the tiles and the cement, and even hollowing or even falling off;

2、 Before laying, thoroughly clean the wall surface

If there are cracks or uneven areas on the wall, it is necessary to first fill them with sealant to maintain the flatness of the wall. If there are objects such as lime paste, they should also be cleaned before laying. A flat and clean wall is more conducive to the bonding between tiles and the wall;

3、 The wall should be soaked and moist

Not only do tiles need to be soaked in water to keep them moist, but before tiling, the walls should also be fully watered to maintain a moist state. This way, the moisture in the mortar will not be absorbed by the dry wall and affect the bonding degree. Otherwise, the effect of cement adhesive will not be obvious, which will affect the bonding degree and cause potential risks of tile detachment in the future.
